Don't Throw A Cow!?
"You get what you get and you don't throw a cow”? From the “I Choose the Attitude of Gratitude” series.
Watch the video and have a discussion with your class or someone you know. Below, there are some suggested questions or writing prompts.
"You get what you get and you don't throw a cow." You might know this better as, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit." In our house, we like to say it the other way.
Both statements remind us that we get what we get and we are thankful for it (that's another way to say it).
QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:
1. What do you think about the statement, "You get what you get and you don't throw a cow"?
2. Do you have a similar statement that you use at home or at school?
3. As a class, come up with other fun ways to say this statement. The point is, that it will help everyone remember to be thankful for what they have.
4. Another option is to have kids place the name of something they really like in the place of "cow" or "fit". For example: If a kid really likes their XBOX, their statement will read like this, "You get what you get and you don't throw an XBOX." Having kids think about throwing something they really like or value gets them thinking about what they have to be grateful for.
