Self-discipline is a way to be responsible and have good decision-making skills. Self-discipline is your ability to control your own life.

Have you ever played with a remote control car? It’s fun learning how to control and maneuver the movement of this really fast little car. 

Self-discipline is like having a remote control car.

When you’re a kid, you probably have parents or other adults who guide you toward making good choices. There are consequences for disobeying or breaking the rules. It’s like they have the remote control to your life. 

The whole point is to teach you to control your own life and be able to make decisions for yourself one day. In other words, passing the remote control of your life to you.

Self-discipline is a way to be responsible and have good decision-making skills. Self-discipline is your ability to control your own life. 

When you're growing up, parents, teachers, and other adults in your life help you with responsible decision-making. Adults are there to guide you and help you make the right choices in life. But as you get older, you become the person who must make responsible decisions in your life. 

Making responsible decisions takes self-discipline and self-control. In other words, it's taking care of your business! It's taking ownership of your words and your actions. It's doing what you know you should do so you can become the person you want to become. 

It’s disciplining yourself to get your reward.
