CLASSROOM VISITS
Classroom visits are ideally used as a follow-up to the grade-level/all-school assemblies. When students come to assemblies, they enter Mister Brown’s world. When Mister Brown visits the classroom, he enters the students’ world.
We have found classroom visits to be effective for several reasons:
The benefit of classroom visits is that small groups are more realistic and manageable for deeper conversations.
Mister Brown can visit multiple classes in one day, further reinforcing a positive message across the entire student body.
Having a Q&A time with students is a great way to gauge what concepts and lessons are connecting with them and what they are taking away from the message.
Much of the content that Mister Brown creates comes directly from questions that students have asked.
Classroom visits can also be customized to each classroom.
Depending on the age group of the students and issues of relevance, Mister Brown works with educators to determine what discussion topics would be most effective.
AGE-APPROPRIATE DISCUSSIONS
The Choose Well message is designed to both stand alone as well as integrate with any curriculum and goals schools may already be using.
The topics discussed in the classroom are age-appropriate and align with the school's objectives.
“I thought Mister Brown did a great job of gathering everyone’s attention. What I really appreciated was the things he was talking about are things we have been trying to say all year: make good choices, be responsible for yourself."
- Mr. Reynolds, 6th grade Teacher
“I like how he will take each classroom that he’s in or each assembly that he has and make it its own. It’s not like you’re in the same thing over and over again. Every single time that we’ve had Mister Brown here it’s been a very unique situation."
- Mrs. Abold, 7th - 8th grade English/Journalism Teacher
“Mister Brown was able to tailor his presentation and his conversation for our specific campus. Mister Brown lives his message and I think that is very evident when he speaks to students and staff.”
- Mr. Harrison, 7th - 8th grade English Teacher
