Look for the good.

It is a good habit to make for yourself. It will change your mindset, your attitude, and your lifestyle.

It's easy to get caught up in what's going wrong in your life, but does it make your day better to dwell on the negative? No!

What would happen if you decided to look for the positive things that happen every day instead? It might be hard to see them sometimes, but give it a try and then tell me what happens.


QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

Have you ever found something that made you really happy that you found it? Like a lost possession or money in the couch cushions? What was it and why did it make you happy to find it?

Do you think it makes your life more difficult when you dwell on negative topics? Why do you think that?

What kind of negative topics bother you the most? What is something positive you can focus on instead of dwelling on the negative?

Do you think negative thoughts can make us have a negative attitude? Why or why not?

How can you look for the good in your daily life?

If you look for the positive every day, do you think it will change your life? Why or why not?

If you answer “good” when someone asks you how you’re doing, why are you doing good?

Activity

Try this with someone you know: Ask them how they are doing. When they say “good,” ask them why they are good. See what kind of conversation you can have with someone today!
