All Or Nothing?

I want to know your thoughts about this quote:

“Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.”

Watch the video and have a discussion with your class or someone you know. Below, there are some suggested questions or writing prompts.

I had this thought because I recently made a birthday video for someone. The reality is that I cannot make a birthday video for everyone I know. Since I can’t make birthday videos for everyone, should I not make any birthday videos? I don’t think so.

With all that goes on in the world, we might feel bad that we can’t help everyone. But we shouldn’t feel bad about that. It is not humanly possible to do something, equally for everyone.

It’s not about favoritism. It’s about doing what you can where you can.

Questions for Discussion:

What do you think of the statement: “Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

How do you feel when you see someone get something that you did not receive?

Have you ever received something that was only for you and could not be given or done for everyone? How did that make you feel?

Can you think of something that you can do for one person that you wish you could do for everyone?

Since you can’t do it for everyone, what can you do for that one person?
