Life Lessons From the Pencil

What can we learn from the pencil?

Watch the video and have a discussion with your class or someone you know. Below, there are some suggested questions or writing prompts.

You can learn from just about anything, but can you learn something from a pencil? Let’s find out!

Three Facts About the Pencil

  1. It only works when you use it. You must guide a pencil along a surface for it to make its mark.

  2. Most pencils come with an eraser, so you can correct your mistakes.

  3. Pencils have to be sharpened to leave their best mark. A dull pencil doesn’t make its best mark.
